Here are some of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs), as well as some questions that are not asked too often, but should be.
The good news is – because of the flexibility of the platform, many things are possible. Even things we haven’t thought of yet.
A patient registry is a secure database where you enter in patient information and are able to analyze the data as soon as it’s entered. Patient registry software can be pre-defined, such as a diabetes registry with a set of standard questions or the registry could be for a custom need. We focus on the latter – delivering patient registries that are built specifically for your initiative or objective. Clinical – focused, patient – focused and / or medical research – focused is all possible with our software system.

We go from idea or objective -> to reality, with the ability to rapidly tailor an intuitive system ready to capture and analyze data. Our platform also helps to mitigate the risk of building a solution from the ground up. We’ve taken out all of the ‘heavy lifting’. We also provide a 10 step process for building a registry that helps agencies outline their objectives.
The software is great for capturing data longitudinally over time, as well. Many products are great setting up forms for your data collection, but making the data available is another story.

Our team builds forms directly within the form editing platform. The system actually validates the data structure and sets up the database for reporting – through the development wizard. The platform drives the form execution as soon as the form is laid out in the editor.
Clients who want to develop the forms themselves can do so by using our Pathways form creation tool or by attending our master developer certification class in St. Louis.
The Visions Query Designer suite includes several tools for reporting. As part of your initial package, (1) we build in a budget so that we can create several queries for you, as a service.
To that point – the back end of the software is SQL-based, so if you have someone on your team familiar with SQL – we provide access to our (2) advanced adhoc query designer. Included in the suite is also an intermediate query builder – designed for the non-technical person to build their own reports. (3) Our Data Selector gives you pivot table “drag and drop” reporting building which is a real fast way to generate a series of “mini queries” from one large query. (4) Key Performance Indicator ‘KPI’ module is an advanced tool for laying different facts on queries to see how progress is occurring over time. The KPI tool helps you take a closer dive into longitudinal data and trend analysis.
Yes – dashboards can be specific to the user. Remember – you can have several user types in ClinicalPURSUIT: a patient, a doctor, study coordinator, reports-focused, super admin, etc.,
Each has a different security make-up which drives what they see in the system. In other words – each group could potentially have a different dashboard. Dashboards can be simple lists with hyperlinks that go directly to the report or they can be a series of rolling graphs and charts on a page. We build them based on what you like to see.
The software is extremely safe and secure. We do a few things to protect your data. (1) The system is fully logged and audited – meaning, every keystroke, form view, login session, is tracked. We track location (we can track IP and geo-coordinates), we have time stamps of when records are entered, edited, by whom and the list of changes over time. If there is an error on a form – we know about it. If a field needs to be encrypted – you can encrypt fields yourself!
Our data centers are certified in several areas of privacy such as HIPAA/HITECH, PCI DSS 3.2.1, SOC 2 Type II, ISO/IEC 27001:2013, and SSAE-18. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Data is backed up every 3 hours and written to a secondary, secure remote location for disaster recovery purposes.
Passwords can be configured to your requirements. Standard settings are 8 characters with a combination of letters, numbers, capitals. We offer multi-factor authentication. Each user session has a timeout feature if no activity is recorded over a certain period of time.
Yes. The software utilizes web services that will enable data transfers to ClinicalPURSUIT (from a third party system) or from ClinicalPURSUIT (out to a third party system). Our team can design a secure data interface using the tools that are built into the platform.
Examples of data interfaces and integrations include – hospital-type systems, electronic health records, electronic medical record, a stand alone database, etc.,
ClinicalPURSUIT has a Patient Empowered Registries The patient portal provides information to patients, access to data collection forms and surveys, a dashboard when applicable and a way for the patient to reach back to the sponsor of for help.
The software is mobile-ready and mobile friendly. The software is web-based which makes it accessible through a browser.
The software “branding” can be customized to an extent. The system has onboard theme controls which allows for color, font, screen size adjustments/preferences setting and the ability to upload a company logo.
Beyond that – our team can tailor a new landing page tailored to your audience. We can adjust the graphics and style sheets to conform to project requirements, as needed.
